Developed by Dan Phiffer, a fellow ITP alum, URL(x) is a URL shortening (no, not shortening like Crisco ... more like abbreviating) service similar to TinyURL or SnipURL. However, instead of creating completely cryptic URL aliases, URL(x) leaves the domain name intact — no obfuscated porn or other unwanted URLs! The idea for URL(x) came from Tristan Perich who I mentioned previously when I wrote about the ITP Winter Show.
