Shop@AOL: eCommerce Site Design
Launched at a time when people still had reservations about shopping online, AOL undertook its widest eCommerce effort in 2000, extending the site reach to other brands and partners. We had to ensure the design was widely compatible, lean enough for 28.8kbps modems, compact enough to be viewed within the AOL browser (visible within a 585x320 area) and simple enough for novices to use. The result? $2.5 billion in sales — double the previous year's figures.
